I completely forgot it was Masters weekend until I talked to the Aunt an hour ago. Not that I can watch it from England without a tv, but it's really the principle of the thing. And apparently it's been a great tournament. I will have to remember to check the board tomorrow morning.

Headed to Canada for a couple of weeks tomorrow.

I am going north for a few days starting tomorrow at noon. If anyone would like to contact me, please hold onto that feeling until Thursday. The computer is going with me, but only because I have artwork to do for HBB, editing to do for HBB, editing to do for my HBB, and editing to do for something indirectly related to HBB. Oh, and PhD research.

And I'm going golfing here:

See you on the flip side!

So, my dear father (whom I absolutely adore) bought me an iTouch as my going away gift. I named it Carlisle.

I'm damned for this.

TARDIS, Verity and Rodney were already taken. I still haven't named my camera. And the iTouch is sparkly and pretty and (when the wifi is turned on) knows and does everything. Also, as we've previously ascertained; I'm obsessed. I don't have to justify this. There's already a Twilight App game on it. But it was free!

But I'm still damned for it.

On another note, I want to see Transformers 3, just to drool over the CGI. Certainly not for the plot or acting.

I also need to decided which dress I'm wearing to the wedding next week so that I can decide on what to do with my hair so that I can go buy hair accessories. Park of me really wants to wear the flower print one, because it's a July wedding. The other part really wants to wear the new champagne satin because it's champagne satin and I can wear my stilettos with it. Choices, choices.

Apparently, there's supposed to be a golf game. Hopefully not before I get to the range again, because Sunday? Was not so good. Damn right hook!

40,000/25,000. Go me! Almost done too. I can't imagine the conclusion will be more than 5,000. So I won't hit that magical 50,000 mark that would make me happy. But it's not been 4 weeks, so no 'nano' anyways.

While researching for the story, and checking out the Seattle Art Gallery, I found a current exhibition on about the Quileute tribe and their legends of ancestral wolves. The blurg about the expo clearly states the reason is because of how internationally well known Twilight has made this little tribe in north-west Washington. Surprisingly, for such a small tribe, there's quite a lot of art and artefacts that exist in many US museums. They'll all been collected together for this exhibit and I really want to see it! Pity Seattle is so far away, even if I go to Cali in September. :( Also, randomly, I discovered the head chef at the Taste Restaurant in the SAG is Craig Hetherington, who is somehow related to us.

Happy Father's Day! I am taking mine out for dinner (after work) and then to a tech museum later in the month (since I have to work today).

Golf...was bad yesterday. Stupid swing! Need to get back to the range this week. Though now they are calling for rain for 3 days, which doesn't impress me at all. Water will not make my game better. I just need another day like last Tuesday.

It could have gone better, but it could have gone worse too. I understand why this sport is so addictive. I also get why it's so frustrating.

Yesterday was the driving range and then 5 holes of golf. The range was infinitely less frustrating than the holes. But I did hit some fantastic shots, which my instructor tells me is awesome, considering I've been golfing for 4 days (or about 6 hours) so far. I keep telling her it's because of her, but she isn't listening. I also had some horrific shots, lost 2 balls into the pond, one into the woods on the 10th fairway and didn't finish any hole in less than 9 strokes (which was the PAR 3).

Still, it can always be worse. I like it!

1. I ate a chocolate bar last night. And 6 Timbits this morning. And coffee.

2. I saw my first S55 today and may have squeed aloud. Unfortunately it was dirty, so not as pretty as it should be.

3. I wasn't going to leave the house today, but Dad tempted me with Tims. I didn't get dressed though.

4. It's hot and cold and humid outside, all in the same go. It's also cloudy, but bright.

5. Spent 4 hours last night debating the tragic state of the world with a 17-year-old who is definitely better informed than I was 11 years ago. It made me feel old. And then we talked about getting drunk.

6. I am at 37,000 words in 3 weeks and a sick twisted part of me is disappointed I won't be able to do 50,000 in 4 weeks because the story is almost over. Sick masochistic moron that I am.

7. I have not practiced my golf swing in 3 days.

8. There was a Twilight joke in last week's episode of Nurse Jackie and I am almost positive it was unscripted. Since it was Peter Facinelli and it's not the first time it's happened. But it was good. I am SO Team O'Hara!

9. I am not enjoying The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. That probably means there's something wrong with me. But Daniel Craig is going to make the movie pretty.

10. I am delaying watching Game of Thrones for this week because I know what happens and it's going to kill me.

Bonus: Am still considering Carentan. And A Good Man Goes to War.

It's been one of those awesome weeks where I get to do fun and new things every single day! Okay, not so much on Tuesday, since I've flown both on my own and on this same route to Florida before.

Monday was not a good start to the week. I found out I didn't get my funding for my PhD and immediately reacted according to my New Years resolution which was 'don't panic, things will work out'. I was rather proud of myself, even if I didn't sleep all that well that night.

Yesterday (Wednesday) I got to go flying in a 4 seater Cessna with my aunt as the pilot! Did a tour east and west along the Emerald Coast and got to see the Hilton resort from the air, as well as Seaside, which is the town that was constructed for the movie The Truman Show. I saw it from the ground last year, but it looks much more familiar from 1000ft! I backed out of the offer for my own flying lesson, though; I'm not quite ready for that yet!

Today my aunt took me to the driving range. I've never swung a golf club (outside of the mini putt), but I think I did pretty well after a short lesson! I actually hit the ball down the fairway a few times, tried out different clubs, and then on the green I managed to put 3 holes in one! My aunt says she's quitting the game now, I made her look bad. It was probably beginners luck. I do know that there are muscles in my back that I have never used before today. Tomorrow will be a painkiller day! We're going to go again on Monday, if the weather holds. Today was very windy, which didn't help my swing. The aunt has even said she might take me shopping for my own clubs, so when I do lessons this summer I won't have to rent or borrow hers (which aren't good for me and didn't help my aim today). I get why people find this fun! And I like a new challenge.

Tomorrow we are taking a rain day and driving out to Alabama (it's only 2 hours away) to tour the USS Alabama in mission. It's a huge museum complex and then there's a few other cultural things we might try out, depending on the weather.

Sunday there is a dog parade in the town centre and we are going out to a really good restaurant for dinner with Todd's family. Must go shop and find something to wear! We did a bit of shopping today. There's a great kitchen store here, so I bought some stuff for mum for xmas for the coach. Also, there's a great fitness clothes store, so I got some new things there (much cheaper than lulu!) which are proving very comfortable on the sunburn I managed to get. I sat outside by the pool this morning for an hour and a half and tanned, then went to the range and burnt! Oops! Must be more careful on Monday. Next two days of cloud will actually be a blessing.

But the great thing about this week? My aunt told me that I am going to England NO MATTER WHAT. Even mum admitted that her comment last year of 'if you don't get funding you aren't going' changed on Monday to, 'well, we'll see if we can help you out, but you better get something in second and third year'. My aunt was all 'don't care, you're GOING' which is FANTASTIC!!!

I'm off to England in September!
