Merlin 'The Mists of Avalon'
Jan. 3rd, 2013 09:41 amYeah, that's not what it's called. But it amuses me to use the title.
Okay, I get it, it was time to end the show. I get that certain things had to happen because Merlin had been told they were going to happen. And obviously, foretelling does not work in a way remotely useful to changing the future. But the fact that a show that has previously ignored legend and myth on purpose suddenly pounced upon the most mainstream tale of Arthur sort of bugs me. I'm not saying I'm upset with how it ended (Spoilers dears), just that I am surprised they went with that as the ending rather than having their own. The bit with Gwen is a nice touch, but then nothing about Gwen has been truth to the legend at all, so that's okay. Might as well continue with that.
Gaius is awesome. Actually, so is Gawain. Mordred, as always, I just felt sorry for, because Morgana is a manipulative bitch and Arthur caused the whole issue in the first place.
And, OMG, the slashy fangirls are going crazy aren't they? That was almost kissing!
Goodbye to another show. However, I have immediately found something new to watch which should more than make up for it (provided it isn't cancelled).
