So, I'm going to make a decision I may regret. Which is to not stay in the con hotel next April. There's a hostel 15 minutes away which is SO MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE and means that I can stay a couple extra days (which makes flights cheaper) and see Bonn. Which would be a shame to miss, really, as there are some fantastic museums there.

I say I may live to regret it, because walking 15 minutes through a commercial area of Bonn in costume may be one of the more embarrassing moments of my life. If I'm really lucky the weather in April will be horrid and I'll have to wear my trench coat over it. (I may anyways.)

[Which won't exactly help for the train-ed velvet Arwen gown, but I'll deal with that when I have to.]

Also finally found a wig that's affordable and looks relatively good. Can braid it ahead of time for Fili. I'll die my own hair for Thorin, because that's so much easier! And it should be long enough by April. And dark brown will work for Arwen too.

All coming together.

It's still going to be a £400 birthday present, but that's better than what it was going to be after I discovered the flights had risen (already).

Going to book soon, I think. Don't really have the money right now, since I haven't even left for Paris yet, and that's going to cost more than it already has (hostel is pay on arrival).

Yep, it's that colour. I swear to God. Specifically Thor.

I love it, but getting the red colour even when dying it from dark blonde is NOT EASY. Will need another re-dye next month, maybe a shade darker because then the unevenness will be less obvious. As it will when it's dry I'm sure. I'm judging that while it's wet right now, in bad lighting.

Wonder how long before the red fades?

This is not my first red period, but how else does one play Natasha for Hallowe'en?

We had a very good group session today. I think it is not only going to be a really good project, but that we are all still going to like each other by the end (of this one). Just a matter of finding studio time next week since the timetable is...buggering screwed as usual.

I have found a fabric store that specialises in Italian fabrics and silks and such, so I am hopeful that a trip up there (by which I mean the city centre) will yield appropriate fabric in a matching colour to my dress that won't cost me a massive fortune. If so, I have found the perfect mask, which is a bit expensive, but I'm willing to splurge. I'm sure I'll find another masquarade to go to...at some point. Just have to figure out what to do with my hair so that it'll work with the mask.

The ball is in June, by the way, and I have no date.

I think I have a costume for Valentine's Day. I just have to make it, and it's not going to be spectacular, but it'll do. I also have a great idea for St Paddy's Day, but I am not sure where to find said costume. It's beyond my capacity to make without a sewing machine. Ironically, I have the perfect dress in my costume closet at home - that I have never actually worn. But since the shipping cost would be ridiculous, I might as well spent half the money on renting something. Just have to find something to rent. And grow my hair. Or find a wig.

I found the most gorgeous dress trolling through costume shops online today. I mean, stunning. I think I want to get married in it.

Alright, so I promised I'd do this over a year ago. But since I will not be back in Canada for at least another year, I thought I'd get around to it while I still could.

All the ones in my wardrobe that are finished.

I am happy today. Why, you may ask? Firstly, because no one, and I repeat, NO ONE is in the office tomorrow except myself and Gabriel. And although that means I have to listen to him talk all day, it also means I get paid to sit around and stare at the phone until it rings. I shall gets lots of my book read!

Also, I got half of the blue robe sewn last night, and already it looks fantastic! I am so happy I found the fabric I did (an at $9m too!), and although the faux fur isn't perfect, it is at least the right colour. Will hopefully finish it by tomorrow evening, so I can spend the weekend wearing it around the house. And then I can work on the underdress, with the hope to get it finished before parents arrive back and ask why the hell I'm wasting my money on sewing costumes with no convention to wear them too. :D I so don't care. If I finish it in time, I shall take it to the cottage and enjoy wearing it there. And the fabric is perfect for the summer heat...

Am so excited! Now, to find a convention...and money.

4 more days of work! One of which I will spend doing nothing!

When was the last time I updated? ::can't remember::

I just finished my first Eowyn dress. The Helm's Deep one. Am ambling around the house wearing it and enjoying the fact it flows so beautifully. Next up, blue Victory gown with cloak. Can't wait!

I have 6 more days of work left, and I may kill myself before they're over. Suddenly my boss has realized I only have 6 days left and discovered there are about a billon things she wants me to do before I leave. I will not have time, but she's going to make damn sure I try. And Steven has accounted himself even more useless than usual. My boss is rather unhappy with him. It was a good day.

And Gabriel is complaining that the medical profession is a money-making crock. I want to kill him.

Please let it end. I just want a break in which I can sew, paint and write to my heart's content. Just for a little while...

Finished third costume this evening. Well, I suppose it's only the second, as the third one was actually already complete, as it's my rennaisance dress that was made 6 years ago and that I'm just reusing as a hobbit outfit. It seemed to work. It's brown and green. And I bought a straw hat in case it is hot on Saturday. Which is will probably be.

But I finished the Gondorian dress, of which you will all get to see pictures of after next weekend. Or sometime thereafter. I must do my convention notes for, because I promised Kristy, and will feel bad if I don't. As she is in England and cannot come.

I only have to survive 5 days of year end at work beforehand. Gah.

My seler sent me a wonderful package in the mail this week, for birthday/xmas/the hell of it. Was very nice and made me cry, as her presents/letters always do. Miss you terribly Dune.

Daddy is kindly giving me money behind mommy's back now. :D Daddy's little girl...

::continues being giddy::
