The amount of American pandering in the episode was one of the two REALLY BIG things I didn't like about it.

It's only going to get worse. Apparently, BBC America seems to have (whether actually legally according to contracts or not) gained a great deal more power as a broadcasting enterprise than they had any right to, considering they are BritishBC!america. Unsuprisingly, the Brits will live to regret that. Until then, we get American pandering and really, really, stupid US versions of great British shows.
