Because Peter has to find out eventually. The point of Season 1 was to establish the concept/the players and Season 2 has been all about drawing the battle lines. Season 3 has to be about the war. Which means everyone has to pick a side. Which means, Peter has to know what side he was on originally.
You know what I LOVE? Is that Denethor had that same look on his face when they brought Faramir back to him wounded.
WHY does Joshua Jackson look hot even when he's gone bat-shit insane from a 75,000 year old virus that's been buried 10 miles underground?
And now that I give it a moment's thought, that was seasons 1-3 of Lost too. Players/Lines/War. Said war just proceeded to last for the last THREE BLOODY YEARS. I am assuming they'll be an actual winner. Randomly, it'll probably just be whoever is left standing at the end. So long as Locke is not the sole survivor, I'm good with that.
