Jan. 1st, 2009 05:54 pmI started the new year buzzed on champagne. This one's going to be good, I can feel it.
Spent the 'eve with aunt, aunt's boyfriend, boyfriend's son, boyfriend's son's pregnant new wife. And two dogs. I should be more confused then I am, but in my family, this is normal.
That should worry me.
Apparently I have missed two months of the new TV series "Legend of the Seeker". (Firstly, horrible name). It's US made, in New Zealand. So it's all sweeping mountains and very familiar forests (honestly, end of TT, Gollum talking to himself behind a tree? Yep, that forest). Craig Parker plays the bad guy. I am probably more amused by this then I should be. But he has long black hair! And an evil smile! Also, the main actor is tres hot. I should, at this time, explain that the series is based on the first book of The Sword of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind (that would be Wizard's First Rule). And also, somehow, in the first hour manages to fall off the bandwagon of literary truth. Surprise, surprise. As well, somehow, it manages to steal certain bars of music from LOTR and get away with it. It's probably because of the backdrop.
Sans Merlin; need to find something else to occupy my 'mythical, epic stories' quota for TV.
