Obligatory Reno Update
Dec. 9th, 2006 03:14 pmSince I haven't really done one yet.
The basement is a disaster zone. Followed a close second by the 2 mm thick layer of dust on everything in the rest of the house. My allergies are going to hate me tomorrow. They've been sanding for two days now, and will be back Tuesday to finish it. At least I won't be here for that.
Complete:
-walls are up
-drywall is up
-mudding is done
-half the walls are primed
-doors are hung
To Complete:
-finish priming
-paint all walls
-lay bathroom floor
-put in bathroom fixtures
-put in hardwood
-do all the baseboards/doorframes...gah
-put carpet down in rec room and bedroom
-realize it's March 2007 and the basement is Still Not Finished
I hate construction. I hate living in it even more. And over Xmas nonetheless. Who's bright idea was this anyways? Oh, right, my mother's. That explains it.
At least we haven't argued over paint colours, and dad won the argument over flooring, on both levels.
Now, if we can just figure out how to redecorate the dinning room so that it DOESN'T clash with the rest of the house, things will be...okay.
I have no hope.

Off to the Old Mill Restaurant tomorrow, with a swing by the cemetery, as it was May the last time we made it there and we're all feeling rather guilty on that. Brunch in a private room, won't that be fun? Plan to stun family with my new look. We'll see.
