Back to whatever reality this is...
Jan. 1st, 2006 11:23 amWell, I survived; all things considered, I think that's a pretty large achievement this time around.
It was an aweful trip. Not as aweful as last February, because thankfully no relatives died this time around, but besides that, it did, in basic words, suck.
Everything that went wrong pretty much went wrong, at least for me. Though everyone else seems to have had a lovely vacation. My aunt enjoyed it so much, in fact, that she and boyfriend stayed on the ship another week! They are currently at sea, sailing south to the USVI. How I hate her. Mother is less than impressed with the whole thing, and may never forgive her sister for this. Would we have stayed another week if we didn't have reality to get back to? Yes. Would I have wanted to? No.
I was so ready to get of the ship on Friday, I was nearly in tears. By the time we got to the airport, and settled in for a 6 hour wait until take-off, I was in tears. This would be the second emotional breakdown I've had this year. The other one was in February in the Atlanta airport. I've got to stop doing this.
The dive trip on Thursday in Nassau was what did it. I was pretty much fine, or at least dealing, until then. Five things had gone wrong before we even left the dock, and by the time we got back 4 hours later, about 20 things had gone wrong, and no one on the boat was having a good time. Ten foot swells were not meant to be dived in. Nor boated in. Nor swam in. I think that sums it up. No more organized cruise tours...they always end badly.
I'm full ready to get back to school. My parents are not high on my good list at the moment. Dad is sick, and Mom is annoyed with everyone. It does not help anyone's state of mind that we are the only members of the ENTIRE EXTENDED FAMILY that are not currently on a cruise ship.
All in all, I'm rather bitter, and not thrilled to get on a another ship (at least a HAL Vista class) anytime soon...or rather never.
See you all on Tuesday.
Is it spring break yet?
