*headdesk*

Moving onwards. I haven't done this since I started posting any of it, but all of my Twilight Fic can be found at FF.net, as per usual. There was an unexpected 'addition' yesterday when I suddenly got struck by 5 ficlet ideas in the space of 30 minutes; all missing BD scenes from the movie.

Hey Muse? Can I get some of that for Sanctuary? Or Doctor Who? Or ANYTHING ELSE?

Also, this post was entirely an excuse to use the icon. Sad Amy; very, very sad.

On a completely unrelated note, the generator stopped. That's probably bad, but it is quiet outside my window for the first time since I moved in 54 days ago. And it's LOVELY!

Dude! You're Canadian, a museum-geek, you costume and you write fanfic? Why have we not met before this? (OK, we have different fanfic fandoms, but still!)

Wow, you read a long way down my LJ entries to get to that one. Also, I noticed your profile, and then I noticed your ff.net account and then I was also WHY HAVEN'T WE FIGURED THIS OUT YET?!?! But yes, different fandoms is probably what did it. Since not everyone in Canada knows everyone else. Though I wonder sometimes...

Also, Twilight is NEW and hopefully SHORT LIVED. I started out in Lord of the Rings and then moved on to TV.

I haven't written fanfic for a few years now - since I started the PhD, in fact. I still get cracktastic ideas, but I just don't have the energy or the time to write anything for them. Plus, my main reading fandom (Harry Potter) has kind of fizzled out since JKR finished the series, and I haven't found anything to replace it yet.

Harry Potter is ironic for me, because in actual fact I have written a ton of words for that fandom, and never posted any of it. By the time the story arc was finished, JK has pretty much destroyed it by publishing Book 6, so I gave up. It's on a harddrive somewhere. Well, some of it is, the rest is probably on a CD in Leah's parents' house. And better for it!

I am one of those writers that annoy other people. I can write 10,000 words of a story in 4 hours if I'm struck by inspiration, do a half-assed read through for bad spelling mistakes, and be ready to post. In other words, writing doesn't really take up much of my time. Except for NaNo, which I am blessedly not doing this year!

I used to write a chapter of my Holmes fic in my lunch hour, practically every day, if I was inspired.

JKR also interfered with my story arc for HP, so one major fic was abandoned. I could have made it AU, but it was too much work.

NaNo for me is more or less 'international write my goddamn thesis over three years'. (And yes, there's a userpic for that, and scarily I gakked this version from a user named petrovnik...): http://l-userpic.livejournal.com/67756325/363983

I have that userpic! I used it for my last dissertation.
