Mar. 22nd, 2011 02:58 pmSo, last week I stopped in at a branch of my bank I don't normally go to. I was out running errands and needed a bank and it happened to be on the way. When I have used it, it's only been the instabank to get money out and not the teller. The branches I do use know who I am (at least my name rings a bell when I go in) but this one didn't. The nice lady at the desk was helpful (as all my bank employees seem to be).
I was depositing left over American cash back into my account and she asked if, in future, I wanted to open a US dollar account. I've been asked this before, and honestly I've nearly done it, but I don't go to the States that often to really warrant it. Anyways, this time (post Florida and therefore September is a go!) I told her that it wouldn't be of much use to me as I was moving back to Britain in the fall. So, naturally, she asked me why and I told her. And she wished me the best of luck.
Today I get a card in the mail with and English garden scene on the front and a note inside: 'All the best to you and safe travels to England'. My bank teller sent me a good luck card.
Seriously, BEST BANK EVER.
