What heaven must feel like
Jul. 13th, 2003 01:21 pmIt has occured to me that my lack of posting probably isn't concerning anyone, but it's pissing me off. What the hell use is an LJ if you don't use it. So, although I highly doubt the next few weeks will remedy that fact. At least this entry will assure myself and anyone who still reads this, that yes, I am alive. Yes, I am having a good summer. And yes, I'm still stuck on Earth. ::shares a 'look' with her sister::
Now what was...oh. The point, and I swear there is one. There always is. Somewhere.
The point: Saw Pirates of the Caribbean (the only time I will use the full name in this entry) twice this past week. Dragged mom to it opening day and then all but forced Leah to go. Well, not really, she was willing enough to come. And boy is she willing enough to go back. Watch it seler, Kara might be trying to steal your husband. Would be a shame, wouldn't it? What with the newfound information that I probably can't marry mine.
I went to see it on Wednesday because it sounded like a good movie, the trailer was cool, and Orlando was in it. I went to see it Friday because it was a good movie, the trailer didn't do it justice, and Depp was in it. There is not other word for his performance that does it justice except brilliant. Absolutely bloody amazing. He was a good actor before this, he's just perfect now. He took on the character, became the character the same was Viggo did with Aragorn. But unlike Aragorn, Jack Sparrow is funny, funny, too smart for his or anyone else's own good, funny, and hilarious. I cracked up in the car on the way home Wed. night....just driving down the highway and started laughing so hard I couldn't see.
Becuase I was remembering his entrance. ::grins at Kara:: That hands down gets the award for best entrance. EVER. And I think it says a huge amount about the character right there. Of course, the movie, which was a pirate movie and so therefore should have gotten worse from there-on-out...just got better. And better. And better. Sappy romantic ending, but hell, I liked that too. And Depp gets the last line. A very good line too...perfect delivery.
Can't wait for a sequal. As long as they keep the characters, actors, and don't go too far off the mark story-wise.
::goes back to her floating cloud with wireless internet connection:: I love being out in the great outdoors, the sun on my face, wind in my hair, grass under my feet...and laptop in my lap.
