Just caught on the telly a whole hour long interview with Martin Sheen.  There were a great many highlights, but the top of the list was when he stood up to the crowd of hundreds watching and said [paraphrased] 'Obama can be a fantastic president, if you let him be!'.  Oh, Bartlet, I love you.  I also really miss The West Wing now.

In other news....3 days until NaNo.  I'm not panicking, really.  It's all going to be just fine.

I'm panicking about the phd funding application instead.

Personally, I'm panicking. I am now asking myself *why* exactly I signed up. Yeah, panicking. That's me.

See, I panicked last year. That was because I'd never done it before and I woke up the end of October and went '50,000 words??!?! WTF!'. And then November 1st came and I just sat down and started writing. The trick is to attempt 1700 words a day. If you can manage that (which isn't that much, actually) then you'll hit 50,000 by November 30th. That was what got me through.

This year, though, with the PhD proposal, I am already stressed, so Nano on top of it is kind of doing me in. I'm still going to try though!

I'm going to try and I want to write original fiction the entire time, one complete thing rather than just writing small bits and pieces. It isn't likely but that's what I'm trying for.

I like the way you've broken it down to 1700 a day. It just sounds more manageable that way.
