Dave Unwin is a shit. He just emailed me his feedback for my first chapter!!!
Thankfully, his only major comments were that the Methodology section was too short (I added more on my own before I handed it in, so hopefully...) and that in text references go before the fullstop. Which in Canada they don't. Maybe the first marker won't notice and Dave will be kind. I did email him back to tell him it was too late.
And then congratulated him on the baby. I am such a suck.
My dad's an at academic conference at the moment (well, it's a funding meeting for books, actually, but full of academics). He just called me between meetings to see how I was doing (and if I was finished) so I told him about your fun with Dave. He said he's been badmouthing Leicester University all over the place! He also says Dave's behaviour (and basically, complete lack of supervision for you) ought to be an departmental disciplinary matter. I have no clue whether it will be here, though...
