I have a choice. Work ends September 11th (I know), but I don't have to go back to Canada for a week (no one's home).

Now, I was planning a grand adventure to Paris and Brussels, but lately I find I can't be bothered to a)go on my own and b)pay for it. I could, of course, always stay in London that week. Rather boring, really. There is one area of England I haven't really seen and would very much like to, and that is the Lake District. It's been ages since I went hiking and I miss Northumberland. The Lake District is fairly accessible from London and certainly more affordable than a holiday on the Continent.

What do you all think? Some how I've always seen Europe as a place to travel with others, but I'm quite eager to see the UK on my own (peace, relaxation, etc.). I've been meaning to do a hiking trip for ages (nowhere to hike near Leicester really) but haven't had the time. Also, a UK is cheaper really. Yes, I'm trying to talk myself into it. I think 5 days or so in Grasmere would be a lovely break from the hectic mess of London before I have to go back overseas.

I don't know!
