Xmas haul!
Dec. 27th, 2008 11:20 amWell, I did pretty good this year.
Lots of chocolate (apparently no one listens to me), a new babyblue!camera that I can carry around with me (mentioned in passing months ago) and so I can leave my dive camera here, a new iPod Nano 16GB (well, bought today because apparently Canada is the cheapest place to buy them! - it's blue, I named it TARDIS), a couple of interesting little items that mum found and that will fit in my (ever growing) suitcase, and new slippers (warm feet!).
Pretty damn good, if I do say so myself. I love this recession! Apparently so does everyone else, judging by how busy Best Buy was the last two days (yikes!).
Now it is all misery and rainy outside (but mighty warm) and I have no interest in doing work. I don't honestly think it'll take me that long to do, but it will be fiddly. Also, boring as anything. And I'll probably do badly no matter what. Least it'll be the end of January before I find out how badly.
New Years is in Richmond Hill, apparently. Which will be the first time I have actually celebrated New Years in, well, years. Edie has a 'big' (not in number of people) party planned that will last all evening and pick up again for brunch the next day. And we get to use the new basement! Yeah party room! And pool, and sauna, and lots of food! Very nice, since our typical NYD friends bailed this year to go to the States (shame on them).
Parents are off to a luncheon. Whatever will I do with myself? Watch DW again?

Date: 2008-12-27 04:45 pm (UTC)This is the main problem I'm finding in trying to get myself to work on it. I have no interest whatsoever in doing so.
What date are you back in beautiful Leicester?

Date: 2008-12-27 04:50 pm (UTC)I'll be back before you. Will have to plan a get together of some kind to commiserate over the evil assessment. Or do something more fun than that.

Date: 2008-12-28 01:32 am (UTC)New Years sounds like it will be awesome! That is exactly how New Years should be: basement, pool, martinis...:) I will probably end up in a bar somewhere.
