The less money I spend the better. I was rather hoping one of the UK friends would stand up and say "I'll go somewhere with you" but they've all be strangely silent.
Hmm... Greyhound used to have this deal where if you buy your tickets two weeks in advance you could go anywhere in North America... not sure if they still have it though.
