windemereWhat happens when a group of villagers in 99BC set out to make a dedicatory inscription to their patron goddess, and end up writing the world's first fanfic instead.
So, in the village of Lindos, 2000 years ago, the devoted townspeople decided to honour their patron goddess Athen Lindia, by inscribing a marble stele with a list of votive offerings and a catalogue of three epiphanies.
Now, the votive offerings don't really come into play here, but the three epiphanies were fabrications involving the Lindians re-writing (and in many cases writing AU)Greek mythology wherein they Mary-Sued (can I use that as a verb?) themselves into the greatest events of the Greek Bronze Age, namely the Argonauts and the Trojan War.
The killer is, that for each votive inscription, and each epiphancy, the deligent villagers gave their bibliographical source(s) from ancient writers. So, it's fanfic with written evidence to support it?
Oh, it was the only good end possible to such a class.
