Fun Times of a TA

windemereRight, today was my big teaching day. By which I mean, because they are MAs, that I stood around and observed while answering the occasional questions or giving little hints and nudges about things. But that's still teaching. They learned stuff, after all.
There was a bit of an issue this morning with the trolley being MIA (probably my fault for not sending a follow up email to make sure), but honestly, I have no idea how we would have found the time to actually use it to move the objects upstairs/downstairs with the lift. It takes 5 minutes per trip, I swear, and we barely had time to do the shortened lesson! So, actually, it probably worked out for the best. Of course, in 95% of the museums outside the national ones, there is no lift. Personally, I think the point rather moot on that front. Janet disagreed, but without a trolley, there wasn't much to be done. [What I mean is that most museums cart stuff up staircases instead, or are all on one floor to begin with.]
I am tired though. I hate pretty much a seven hour day (plus set up and morning meeting), so really 9 hours. Been on my feet for most of it, and now I really want to crawl into bed. Tomorrow there will be trains, then planes! And hockey.
