I suppose the irony of it is, is that I started on the day the world was supposed to end. Apparently, we've been worshipping at Satan's feet since 1955, when God departed all the world's churches and Satan took over. Or something; I'm not terribly clear on the details considering every single article on the subject contradicts itself every paragraph. It may have 1988 instead. Not that I've ever been to church.

Still, I'm pretty sure I signed my own pact with the Devil yesterday and handed over my soul. But since the house in Hell has been going to waste for the last six years or so, it's probably about time it was inhabited again. At least to clean out the ashes and brimstone. It'll be nice to have my own place again.

Yes, I realise none of the above makes much sense, but considering 'I' decided to start writing a Twilight AU novel yesterday, with pen and paper, I'm not at all sure I need to be either sane today, or understandable.

I do know my hand hurts. And Bella is somewhere outside Washington DC with Edward and Carlisle, headed for Rosalie's apartment in Manhattan. I'm...really not sure why. Hopefully it will all makes sense to me when I finish. Until then, 'I'm' not the one really writing this, I think.

And I'm going to keep telling myself that.

If it makes you feel any better, my own vampire apocalypse novel will be at least 25K and I started it on paper too (as I was 5km into the bush at that point, and no longer in cell reception...).

I'm 6000 words in in 24 hours and my hand may never be fully functional again. Also, what terrifies me the most is that NONE OF THEM WILL SHUT UP. Which means...25k is completely conceivable as well. And instead of having Rory and Amy arguing in my head I have Edward and Bella and I can't sleep and it's not fun and WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?

[Anything other than straight sympathy to that previous question will be ignored.]

But I discovered that, so long as I stick to pen and paper, I can write as fast and well as always. I'm just stumped with a computer these days. I...am worried about October, to say the least.

Now I have to finish this hateful thing! The advantage of Edward/Bella pre-Breaking Dawn is, at least, no worry of lemons. Or anything remotely lemonish, in fact. I'm writing in my comfort zone. How...worrying.

I got them to Manhattan. Now I need to get them out of Manhattan!

And find a beta reader that doesn't despise this fandom.

I don't mind, either way. I would assume, however, they probably have someone already! But, on the off chance not, then I would happily help out. Specially if it meant reading it before the end of September.

You know, the timing on this is great. I'll have this story finished and in before I get on a plane. Sometimes, it works.
