Fringe 'Peter'
Apr. 1st, 2010 10:07 pmDear JJ Abrams,
Clearly, Lost was a one-off. You did alright before, and you've done brilliantly since. You have proved, yet again, that you can deal with multiple character and story arcs weaving together over the course of multiple seasons and - in the end - have them all come together and make sense without screwing it up. And you can do it with multiple universes too.
I don't know what happened with Lost. I will give anyone the free rein to screw up once. I will assume, from this point forwards, that your screw up is Lost. Because, having now watched every episode (including the two seasons that I didn't *want* to watch) and with only a few left, it is clear to me that you jumped the shark in your own show. Which is, sorry to say, entirely unforgivable. It's funny if you do it intentionally. It's stupid if you do it accidentally, because you made it so complicated your writers have no idea what's going on anymore. I feel sorry for your props people.
But I said a year ago that all was forgiven for Star Trek, and I meant that. I forgive.
And tonight, I applaud you. You topped it with the 1980's credits, though. You go, man. You just keep going.
Luv, Amy
P.S. How about the next ST film? ::bats eyelashes::
P.P.S. But next week we get Peter/Olivia/Walter again, right? And Astrid?
