A Party to Remember
May. 18th, 2011 03:23 pmI have this story. It's fairly recent, considering the number of years in my life, but it's a true story:
I turned 25 in Rome. On the patio of the British School overlooking the Borghese Gardens. Drinking Prosecco and eating strawberries and lemon cake. I mean, nothing beats that.
Sunday came very close. There are a hundred things that could have gone wrong and the only thing that did was that it rained, so we couldn't use the back deck. So all my gardening mostly went to waste. But other than that? Not a hitch!
My cousins were at their best (by which I mean, I have video worthy of YouTube and someone broke the law - it is not a Naylor party unless someone breaks the law). I met my baby cousin Lyla for the first time (she's 8 months old already). My cake was THE BEST CAKE EVER MADE and exactly how I wanted it to turn out. No one argued, no one was injured (don't ask) and I was honestly happy.
