Disturbing...

I'm watching (like one does a train wreck) a documentary on the Malleus Maleficarum. Apparently, scholars have concluded that the *person* who wrote and published it did so without the endorsement of the Church. He forged the signatures necessary to have it published and distributed as a document. There is evidence that his fellow scholars at the time at Cologne were slightly horrified by the book.

SERIOUSLY PEOPLE?!?!?! 600 YEARS OF PERSECUTION BECAUSE OF ONE MAN WHO FAKED A BUNCH OF SIGNATURES?!?!?
